Welcome to Hunt & Gather Home!

My name is Megan, and I’m the hunter-gatherer behind this historic preservation and vintage design business and blog.

Hunt and Gather Home began in 2012 as a way for me, and my friend Brandie, to document our weekend antiquing trips and design adventures in own homes. It wasn’t long before we began receiving requests from friends to hunt and gather vintage pieces and paint colors for their homes, helping them pull together rooms that exude both comfort and style where life can really happen.

In 2015, I decided to pursue my dream of working hands-on with historic structures. Combining a professional background in historic preservation with a natural talent for design, Hunt & Gather Home, LLC was born. I can now see a project through from beginning to end, developing a relationship with the owner and bringing them through the research, restoration, and design process. Offering preservation consulting for historic structures and vintage design consultation for homes of any age, Hunt & Gather Home exists to tell the story of a place by revealing and restoring the beauty of its original architectural features and creating spaces that nurture the present and inspire the future through their connection with the past. I call this inspiring blend of old and new the art of old house living.

I invite you to follow along as I continue to document both design and preservation projects on the blog. You can look forward to hearing from Brandie as a guest blogger. I hope that our writing reflects the same comfort, connection, and inspiration of the places and spaces we love to restore, create, and reimagine.
